"Do It For Me" Workflow

PluralEyes lets you quickly sync audio and video recordings, and the sync goes fastest when you give hints to PluralEyes. Our recommended procedure is to add the clips from different cameras and audio recorders into different bins, so your media is already organized into groups.

But sometimes you have a collection of recordings, and you don't know when they were recorded or on what device. PluralEyes makes it easy to deal with this situation with its “Do It For Me” workflow.

This workflow consists of two controls, the Add Takes button and Consolidate Takes feature. “Takes” are special video and audio tracks that do not require any initial setup or organization.

Add Takes button

The Add Takes button lets you quickly add audio and video files. You can do this by clicking the Add Takes button and browsing to the files, or drag-and-dropping the files onto the Add Takes button. When you add a take, that clip goes into its own bin and its own timeline track. This gives PluralEyes more flexibility to figure out how they all relate to each other.

Once the Takes are in the timeline, PluralEyes will sync the takes like other Camera and Audio Recorder tracks.

Consolidate Tracks feature

After you sync the takes, you can choose to Edit> Consolidate Takes. This feature tells PluralEyes to condense the amount of Take tracks throughout your sequence.

When using Consolidate Takes after the sync, PluralEyes will scan through your synced media and find clips that do not overlap. PluralEyes will then condense the takes into as few tracks as possible, creating new tracks only if your media overlaps.

The consolidated tracks are renamed as a “Take Set.” This feature reduces the vertical spread of the Take tracks to make your timeline neater and more compact.
